Additionally, this course focuses on implementing safety measures when interacting with individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. 

DAY TWO:

Day two begins with a review of Day 1, followed by a comprehensive instructor development section focusing on instructional techniques to enhance learning and retention of the AVADE® Level I material. This is then followed by an overview of instructor requirements and procedures, concluding with the Level I written test. The second half of the day is dedicated to AVADE® Level II Self-Defense Tactics and Techniques.

The final day includes a review of AVADE® Level II Self-Defense Tactics and Techniques, followed by training in AVADE® Level III Defensive Control Tactics and Techniques. Course completion requires passing skills tests for both Level II and Level III.

In order to become a Certified AVADE® Instructor, and for Instructor Candidates who are Nurses to receive ANCC contact hours, all Instructor Candidates must:

• Complete the digital pre-test.

• Attend all training sessions in full.

• Pass the twenty-five question written exam with 80% or better.

• Pass the trainer’s presentation with an acceptable rating.

• Pass the physical skills test with an acceptable rating.

DAY FOUR MORNING:

The AVADE® Handcuffing Tactics™ Program equips participants with the knowledge and skills to teach handcuffing tactics with restraint and control techniques. 

This is an 8-hr (1-day) Handcuffing Tactics™ instructor certification program

DAY FOUR AFTERNOON:

The AVADE® Pepper Spray Defense Instructor Course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to teach effective and safe pepper spray defense techniques. The course covers proper handling, drawing, defenses, spray techniques, team positioning, and post-incident documentation, incorporating hands-on exercises and assessments to ensure proficiency.

Instructor Requirement: Must have documented proof of being exposed and complete an arrest & control scenario after being exposed to live pepper spray (military, law enforcement, or training) or be prepared to be exposed during this training course to become an AVADE® Pepper Spray Defense™ Instructor.

This is a one-day (8-hour) class exclusively available to attendees who hold a current and valid certification as an AVADE® Advanced Workplace Violence Prevention Instructor.
